Boot Camp for Breast Cancer

by Nicci on 10/24/2009

I can’t believe I haven’t posted since Wednesday, almost broke down at work due to overload  and stress.  Trust me, you do not want to see my Google Reader…it’s close to 400. Weekend is here and I feel GREAT!

Earlier this morning my friend Kirstyn and her sister Amber and I went to a Fitness Boot Camp in Dallas to support Breast Cancer.  I love finding events through Twitter. We brought our mats, weights and water bottles. I was pumped and ready to go this morning.

This was me after we finished, I was tired but I did have fun.

I grabbed a banana before we left.

Followed by a Power Bar I ate in the car.

I enjoyed Boot Camp and maybe we’ll do it every 3 months or next year. It definitely gave me a good workout today considering I’d been lacking this week.

Plus, I got a free  Marie Antoinette t-shirt!  I don’t think the movie has anything to do with Camp except that they were pink and black.

I’ll probably start feeling sore in a few hours but I have a Halloween B-day Party tonight &  Block Party to attend.  Can’t wait to wear my costume!

Have a great Saturday :)

Have you ever been to a boot camp, what was your experience like??

What a beautiful day it was at bootcamp!

I did a few “bootcamp” aerobics classes and always LOVED them! Such a great workout!

Amanda- I follow ”DallasRunning” and they had retweeted info on a boot camp. Some times I just search for events too.

Hi Nicci! Ahh I just found your blog, and I love it. You’re so gorgeous and I look forward to reading about your journey!

I have never done a bootcamp myself.. kind of up there in the intimidation factor of a yoga retreat. eekk. :)

That boot camp looks like fun! Love all the pink :) I’ve never been to one, but I’d love to.

Very cool – looks like fun! I’ve never been to a boot camp – this one makes me want to though! Hope the Halloween party/block party was awesome!

That looks like so much fun. And of course for my favorite cause. I was so happy i was able to participate in a walk for breast cancer awareness here on the island.

wow that looks so fun, not to mention what a cause!! I love all the pink-ness about the day! even the smart water had a pink label on it!!!
I have been to a bootcamp before but it was at an overnight camp for kids (i was a counselor) so it wasn’t intense at all, it was more fun!

have a great day! :)

Sounds like a lot of fun! And for a great cause, too, which is awesome.

:)

And don’t feel bad about not posting. We all have those moments where something has to give.

Boot camp sounds really hard but a lot of fun. So neat that you were all able to participate together (and get a free t-shirt!).

Hope your party was fun!

That sounds like a great experience.

I went to a boot camp for about 4 months. At first I really liked it, but it started to get too repetitive after a while.

I haven’t been to a boot camp, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do… I think it would be lots more fun in a sea of pink!

I took pilates at my school and if you missed class you could make it up by going to another class by the same instructor… the only other class my instructor taught was boot camp at 7 am. It was hard, but I felt the burn in ways I had never imagined before.

What a great class! Looks like you had fun!

janetha October 24, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Mari October 24, 2009 at 6:08 pm

Taylor@Joy of Food October 24, 2009 at 1:11 pm

I’ve never been to a boot camp, not sure we have them in the UK. I’d love to do one though. Great cause by the way :)

kelsey @ kelseytoney October 24, 2009 at 1:02 pm

That bootcamp sounds killer, but a ton of fun!

I hope you’ll be posting pics of your costume, I LOVE seeing other people in their costumes.

As a matter of fact, I’m running the 5k up at Northlakes on Halloween, and I think I’ve finally decided my costume… ;) Have a great day!
