August 2010

In the midst of packing & moving, I was able to go out  and enjoy a nice dinner with friends.

Jeremy, one of my best guy friends, and another friend named Steve, made reservations at Go Fish Ocean Club in Addison, Texas.

I’m pretty sure this restaurant is popular for the delicious food, but also for the Executive Chef, Tiffany Derry

Tiffany Derry is currently one of the final five, on  ”Top Chef’ D.C. ”

House Salad: mixed greens, candied spicy walnuts, apples, cherry tomatoes and honey whole grain mustard dressing.

Hawaiian Tuna: Sesame seed crusted/Spring risotto/Lemongrass

Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding:Dark & White chocolate chunks, cherries, almonds, and crème anglaise

Every course was amazing, and I look forward to visiting this restaurant again!!

(Note to self: remember to charge camera battery the night before)

Any restaurant weeks going on where you live?  Have you tried a new restaurant lately?

As I pack up the apartment, more and more magazines pop out!

Kitchen, living room, guest room, bedroom, shelves, drawers… they are everywhere.

Why do I love health magazines?

fitness tips, healthy recipes, success stories and the latest fitness equipment.

(As I write this post, Chris comes from the bedroom with a stack of running magazines).

I’ve been searching for this lost stack for awhile now!

ps. My love for magazines does not come at a high price. I found this website, where every week they have magazine deals. All my subscriptions cost under $2.00 a year!!

What’s your favorite health magazine? What’s your favorite section that you love to read?

I have a hard time throwing them away too, maybe I’ll host a book & magazine swap party, after settling into the new place!

Chinese Food has been on my mind all day today.

The kind people of MyBlogSpark sent me a sample of the New Wanchai Ferry Beef & Broccoli Meal for Two.

This meal was exactly what we needed tonight; I was tired from work and wanted something delicious and quick to prepare.

Simply heat rice in the microwave, heat vegetables and sauce, in the skillet over the stove. Place your skillet contents over the rice and serve.

Pros:

  • Took 14 minutes as the package stated
  • Chris and I both LOVED the sauce…sweet and tangy
  • Beef cuts were surprisingly good (I’m not big on frozen beef cuts)
  • Great amount of vegetables (We love our broccoli)
  • No MSG

Cons:

  • We are not big on eating white rice
  • Not enough rice for two people – Chris can EAT!

Overall, the Wanchai Ferry ”Beef & Broccoli” was a delicious alternative to Chinese take-out!

If your interested in trying this meal you can get a $1.50 off coupon here!

You can also check out the Wanchai website for more summer meal tips. There are also two other new flavors, Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan Style Chicken, also five other delicious varieties including Orange Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Spicy Garlic Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken

Giveaway Time! Later this week I’ll have a gift for one lucky reader from Wanchai Ferry via MyBlogSpark!

(All information, frozen sample, prize pack and giveaway have all been provided by Wanchai Ferry through MyBlogSpark.)

Be on the lookout ;)
