I had a great Sunday lunch with Kelsey at The Cupboard’s cafe. I hadn’t been to the Cupboard since last year; I’m ashamed to admit I live less than 10 minutes away. I plan to shop there and eat at the cafe later this month, it is a great little spot in Denton.
I was super excited to meet a fellow Healthy Living Blogger right in the same town!
The Cafe and was off in the corner of the store and it was a nice quiet atmosphere.
We ordered lunch and sat down not knowing bees would be following us from table to table outside…No Bueno.
Bloggers in action
I decided to be gutsy and try tempeh for the first time and it did not disappoint. I found it to be very chewy and nutty.
Soy Tempeh marinated in Spicy Jamaican Jerk Sauce with Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Tamari Mayonnaise, served hot, on toasted bread.
Carrot Juice
After having bees attack us outside we went in and looked around the grocery store. Kelsey spotted Silk ”Pumpkin Spice”! She said the pumpkin spice was amazing and I must agree…anything Pumpkin is yummy.
After searching a bit, I located my favorite ” Berries GoMega” Odwalla bar.
What else did we find….
What did we think…
Thumbs Up to ”Guava Goddess” flavored Kombucha.
My take on the ”Cranberry” Kombucha.
A drink you learn to like…eventually!
I tried the Cranberry flavor but I swear it was just ”red” vinegar….bad smell. (currently drinking the rest for Monday breakfast)
Lunch was great and I had a blast getting to know Kelsey. We talked about food, fitness and talks of a 5k and working out together….can’t wait! Blogger Meet Ups are always fun and you learn so much about the person behind the blog.
Check out Kelsey’s blog and the Three Giveaways she has going on right now! Yes, 3 Awesome Giveaways that will be ending November 15…so hurry over and show some comment love.
Tomorrow, I’ll show you what I picked up at The Cupboard to snack on.
Have a lovely Monday,
-Nicci

Hey Woman!! That stuff looks good!! Almost makes me want to try it, but honestly I have to have a little cow in there somewhere! lol
I have run a 5K and a 10K race, not for speed but strictly for the chance to finish and the cool medal! There is a half marathon that I have signed up for just before Thanksgiving and I am now training for a full marathon in the Spring.
Just keep it up, you will get your runners legs! Then you will start doing crazy stuff like spending hundreds of dollars on “gear” and quoting Prefontaine….
Happy trails!
Wanna hear something creepy? I was just looking at your blog when you wrote on mine! I think we read the same blogs! It’s nice to know everyone supports each other in HEALTHY living. Texas gals have to stick together!
LOL it is an acquired taste! I loved the cranberry flavor, though!
Hahaha I love your Komboucha face! And your grocery shopping enthusiasm
You two are the cutest!
You two looked so cute taking pics of your food! That market looks wonderful! I wish I had something like that near me. BTW, the kombucha does take some time to get used to. It took me a few sips but I actually really love the taste now – even if no one believes me! Have a great rest of your week!

What a fun lunchy! I recently tried tempeh and grilled it up. The flavor was very good but the texture….I just couldn’t get over it! I want to try it again but this time crumbled up vs. whole. Great shopping too. I haven’t tried the Kombucha yet- the thought of a beverage tasting vinegary has kind of scared me away. CUTE pictures of you two
