Simple Morning

by Nicci on 01/10/2010

I can’t remember the last time I had a good bowl of cereal.  I think it was 3-4 months ago, I tend to eat oats and warm breakfasts’ starting in November…but not today!!

Breakfast:

  1. 1 cup Cascadian Farms Honey Nut O’s
  2. 1 cup Vanilla Almond Breeze
  3. 1/2 apple
  4. 1tsp chia seeds

All ingredients combined made the sweetest breakfast combo.  I’m working on measuring meals and paying attention to portion control.

Agenda:

  1. Cardio- Firm Ladies (switched my days, 5 miles on dreadmill Sat instead of today)
  2. Clean my messy kitchen
  3. Watch tv
  4. Meal planning- Eliminating some sugars and cutting back on processed foods.
  5. Transforming 2nd room into Yoga room

Since Chris has not fully turned the second bedroom into his game room, we’ve decided I’m going to use it as a Exercise/Yoga room.  I’ll be moving the bedroom tv into that room soon.

Any suggestions on decor for my Yoga room?

Are you enjoying your weekend?

So fun! definently some nice candles or some sort of aromatherapy oils. maybe some small speakers somewhere for some calming music. Love the cereal! It looks delish!

Sounds like a productive day ahead of you! Love the breakers.

I love how cute those chia seeds are! (is that weird? haha)

I think a yoga room would be nice with dim lighting, lots of candles, a nice towel rack and lots of calming colors (lavender and blues perhaps?)

I think simple decor and warm colors would be lovely for a yoga room–you are one lucky lady to get a yoga room (and a very smart one to lay claim to it first!)

I’m with you on the measuring for portion control and I just can’t eat cereal for breakfast, boo hoo–the recommended serving never fills me up so I stick to stuff with more sticking power for the calories and portion size (and make sure the husband puts the cereal on the highest shelf so I have to think twice before pouring out a bowl :-) )

A cold bowl of cereal is always great no matter what the temp is outside.

Decor? Candles! Scented satchet mini pillow things! Scenic photos i.e. the sunset, beach!

Having a yoga/exercise room sounds awesome! If I ever move to suburbia, I’m totally having an exercise room.

An orchid in your yoga room would be beautiful! :)

wow I am so jealous of your Yoga room! I would put candles, maybe some plants, river rocks, and try to keep neutral (warm) colors. I want to come workout in your room lol

I love your agenda and LOVE that you’re dedicating a whole room to exercise – very cool! I’ve never done yoga so I don’t know what seems best for a room?? I picture lots of white, modern, river rock and grass!

What a yummy breakfast. :)

The cereal looks yummy- love the chias on top! Isn’t it amazing how easy it is to overdo it on cereal portions!! Thats so fun that you’re going to have a yoga/exercise room. How about a calming greenish for the walls?

Oh I love cereal! So yummy! Right now I am on a Puffins kick! I like the Mulitgrain flavor and I use unsweetened almond breeze and add a few raisins. Excellent and they are gluten-free!

mmmm cereal is the best!!!

Trinity January 10, 2010 at 12:12 pm

A yoga room! How cool.

Nicci January 10, 2010 at 12:38 pm

I’m excited to transform it into my lil space of tranquility!!

Rebeca January 10, 2010 at 11:51 am

YUM! This made me want to go in the kitchen for a bowl of cereal :)

Kristen @ Change of Pace January 10, 2010 at 11:37 am

I did the same thing with cereal! I ate oatmeal for awhile probably October until recently for breakfast. Then cereal started sounding like a lot less work. Cereal doesn’t keep me as full as oats though.
