Wanchai Ferry Beef and Broccoli Review

by Nicci on 08/23/2010

Chinese Food has been on my mind all day today.

The kind people of MyBlogSpark sent me a sample of the New Wanchai Ferry Beef & Broccoli Meal for Two.

This meal was exactly what we needed tonight; I was tired from work and wanted something delicious and quick to prepare.

Simply heat rice in the microwave, heat vegetables and sauce, in the skillet over the stove. Place your skillet contents over the rice and serve.

Pros:

  • Took 14 minutes as the package stated
  • Chris and I both LOVED the sauce…sweet and tangy
  • Beef cuts were surprisingly good (I’m not big on frozen beef cuts)
  • Great amount of vegetables (We love our broccoli)
  • No MSG

Cons:

  • We are not big on eating white rice
  • Not enough rice for two people – Chris can EAT!

Overall, the Wanchai Ferry ”Beef & Broccoli” was a delicious alternative to Chinese take-out!

If your interested in trying this meal you can get a $1.50 off coupon here!

You can also check out the Wanchai website for more summer meal tips. There are also two other new flavors, Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan Style Chicken, also five other delicious varieties including Orange Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Spicy Garlic Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken

Giveaway Time! Later this week I’ll have a gift for one lucky reader from Wanchai Ferry via MyBlogSpark!

(All information, frozen sample, prize pack and giveaway have all been provided by Wanchai Ferry through MyBlogSpark.)

Be on the lookout ;)

the stuff actually looks pretty fresh for frozen! I like that it has no MSG in it, but I’d rather it not have the rice. I’d rather have some other grain, like you!

That looks pretty tasty for frozen Chinese, but there is really only one Chinese dish I love, and I always order off the menu, so I doubt I’ll be finding it in the frozen foods isle….

Ooo. I’ve been wondering about Wanchai. Asian is the only kind of meal I don’t mind having some white rice with.

It looks delicious! But I agree, I’d much prefer brown rice :) But easy and tasty? Can’t argue that!

Looks good! I don’t usually have good luck with frozen Chinese, takeout style food. Will have to check this out!

Yumm!! Chinese food is my favorite, although I can’t believe I’ve never thought to buy a frozen brand…I’d definitely go with the Sweet and Sour Chicken! Thanks for the review, and the coupon attached! Have a great Tuesday!

yum – that looks great! Nice review – love that it looks saucy (hate when chinese food is on the dry side). Boo on not enough rice though – I tend to overeat, especially with white rice. hehe
