Dance, Love, Sing: this new mug put a smile on my face today

Sipping on Emergen-C, Teas and Soups all day long.

I think I’m getting a tiny cold from camping in the rain, but I’m fighting it HARDCORE!

nicoles pics 1309

A Coworker and I went to Panera for lunch.  I tried their broccoli & cheese soup, which was amazing. I also had a piece of their Tomato Basil Panini w/ Mozarella. I will be ordering that panini next time. The life of a vegetarian is not hard or bad at all :)

In other news…

I was leaving my apartment complex, to run to the grocery store, when a car whizzed by me.  My complex is made up of 4 buildings and two exits.  I see this chick in my apt complex always speeding and I always say  ‘She is going to hit someone”; well… she did hit someone tonight.  She hit an older women riding her bike right in front of the exit. I passed by them and wanted to help but so many ppl were already out there helping.  It happened in a split second people, b/c I was driving around the corner in opposite way & came out the other exit and saw the lady on the ground. I pray that both ladies are okay.

  • Please slow down when your driving
  • Please wear helmets when riding your bikes, no matter what: She had no helmet on.

There are so many kids and ppl constantly walking to this gas station up the road daily. Though we are a small complex I think it’s time for a sign when exiting.

Currently watching Gossip Girl on DVR and sipping on more tea before bed.

Good Night :)

I like your mug! That’s so scary about that woman being hit by the car. I’m glad a lot of people were there to help.! I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

April October 7, 2009 at 4:37 pm

EEK! I was ran over when I was younger…NOT FUN. I hope the lady is okay!

That cup is awesome :D

Kristen @ Simply Savor October 7, 2009 at 12:00 pm

Missy Maintains October 7, 2009 at 9:51 am

Hope you are feeling better! That panini sounds delicious! I haven’t been to Panera in so long!

So scary about the accident!! I hope they are both okay!

Lee October 7, 2009 at 9:27 am

Sorry you’re getting sick. Chicken soup!!

Allison (Eat Clean Live Green) October 7, 2009 at 7:53 am

What a scary accident.

Cute mug!

Jeri October 7, 2009 at 6:41 am

oh I looooove me some panera. It’s my go-to the night before races. Speaking of being a veg-head, I haven’t gone there since I crossed over. Might have to take a closer look at the menu since I’m ruling out turkey as an option. Hmmm….

Paige October 7, 2009 at 5:28 am

Emergen-C is my savior! I brought two packets with me to work today.

I’m so sorry you witnessed that accident! Stupid drivers make me SO angry. I really hope the lady on the bike is ok:(

Gab* October 7, 2009 at 3:01 am

Oh no! Hope they’re both ok! I hate it when I see people speeding around apartment complexes or shopping malls. Here (Australia) bicyclist must wear a helmet by law yet you see quite a few teens without them (“too cool”) and it makes me so mad – it’s such an unnecessary risk. I must be getting old if I’m getting indignant about things like this!

WholeBodyLove October 6, 2009 at 10:36 pm

Panera’s Broc/Cheese soup rocks my world! I swear that stuff is better than cheeseburgers. I don’t even want to know the nutritionals on it though. I can’t believe that girl hit an old lady! She must feel awful. I hope the poor old lady is ok.

Allison (Balance in Bites) October 6, 2009 at 6:15 pm

Eep – I hope both of them are alright! A sign IS a good idea – people shouldn’t be speeding like that.

Hope you and your cold feel better soon!

Erica October 6, 2009 at 5:55 pm

I hope you feel better and I hope that woman is ok- how freaking scary. I know I drive too fast sometimes- this is a great reminder to slow down

Nicole October 6, 2009 at 2:30 pm

I like vitamin C chewable tablets and Coldeeze. Also, a good sweat also helps me, too if my cold hasn’t settled too deep inside yet. I hope you feel better! I love Panera soups and breads. My favorite is the black bean. So good! And good for you ;) Keep sipping that tea and soup. BTW, thanks for that story and for the reminder that we should always slow down when driving.

Leah @ L4L October 6, 2009 at 2:14 pm

Wow! That’s crazy! Parking lots are a TERRIBLE place to speed! Can’t be too careful!

Laura@FindingAHealthyBalance October 6, 2009 at 1:40 pm

Oh Girl! I am totally with you on the SLOWING DOWN WHILE DRIVING!!! They do the same in my neighborhood where tons of kids play all the time, in fact I actually do not let mine play outside for that very reason……..which is sad as my daughter can not enjoy the pleasures of outside play because of “stupid & careless” drivers!!! I hope the lady is ok. I always looks tons of times while running outside for that very reason……….=(

P.S. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog earlier! So sweet & positive as always. =)

Thanks Megan, that is such a cute award!

Lo October 6, 2009 at 1:14 pm

thank you so much for the congrats! I adore this blog (I think its different from the original one?) I love your hairstyle/outfit….uber cuteness :) Panera has to be my fav place to go to lunch because its so cozy and I love their soup and bread bowls! As for cars and bad drivers…living in Chicago I get hit almost daily. Its rude. People need to get off the cell phone and concentrate on driving, ya know?

anywoo, hope ur tuesday is wonderful and the rest of your week!

xoxo

Meg @ Be Fit Be Full October 6, 2009 at 1:04 pm

Ahh.. good old Emergen- C. Love that stuff! I also love the Tomato basil panini from Panera! Mmm.. I’m hungry :)

I hope the lady who got hit is ok!

marina October 6, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I always wear helmet, people really drive too fast and don’t look around enough. I love that mug btw!

whitney October 6, 2009 at 11:05 am

that is so scary about the poor old lady- some people seriously need to slowwwww down! and wearing a helmet is a must!

loveddd this episode of gg :)

Yum Yucky October 6, 2009 at 9:25 am

That’s terrible news about the lady. :(
Emergen C! I will buy. :)

Nicci October 6, 2009 at 8:21 am

Yes, Emergen-c is awesome. My fav flavor is the lemonade and the acai berry.

RunToTheFinish October 6, 2009 at 8:16 am

oh the broccoli soup is sooooo yummy. I only stopped getting it because of the sodium being so high.

do you think emergen c helps?? I am not a fan of the taste, but I like being healthy!

Morgan October 6, 2009 at 7:36 am

Cute mug!
I really hope she learns her lesson and stops speeding. I hate when people speed through residential areas, it scares me!

Mari October 6, 2009 at 6:49 am

Oh I have a similar saying hanging on my foyer so I see it whenever I leave my house =)

I hope your neighbors are okay, that is so sad…This happened near my Yoga Studio a few weeks back.

Kaytee October 6, 2009 at 6:30 am

Oh that is so sad. I hope everyone is okay. When I lived in Denton, at City Parc, there was no stop sign by the exit of the complex and it was a slope both ways. Eventually a kid was hit while skateboarding and was declared brain dead. Pretty heartbreaking.

I love your mug! Keep it up with the Emergen-C, girl!!

Haleigh October 6, 2009 at 3:52 am

Cute mug :) That is so scary that the girl hit some one on a bike! I hope every one was okay.

Get to feeling better soon and be careful with those crazy drivers!

Lesley Living Life October 6, 2009 at 3:26 am

Love your mug!! : )

Ugh, I totally agree about the driving thing. I work for an insurance company typing recorded statements from what people say happened in accidents, etc. It’s amazing how much it’s got me thinking about accidents and how they just happen in a split second and no one expects them to happen and that we really do have to be careful!

Tay October 5, 2009 at 11:28 pm

OMG that’s so sad!!! I’ll definitely keep them in my prayers.

Melinda October 5, 2009 at 10:56 pm

That is so sad and scary. I was on the train today and a woman was hit by a train and it was awful to have to slowly pass through the crime scene. Today must not have been a good day.

maria October 5, 2009 at 10:33 pm

So scary about that old lady. Hopefully she will be okay and the girl will have learned a valuable lesson! :)

I love your mug. Hope the cold goes away quick!

Jolene (www.everydayfoodie.ca) October 5, 2009 at 9:25 pm

I saw 2 motorcycle accidents in my city within 15 minutes the other night – very scary … I don’t know why people have to drive so crazy.

jamie October 5, 2009 at 9:05 pm

Ohhh keep up on those liquids! Fight that cold!
That POOR old lady! I hope she is ok! Helmets are VERY impt as is driving cautiously!
My mouth is totally watering over your lunch. That panini sounds amazing! Maybe I will make a tomato, mozzarella panini with lots of BASIL this weekend sometime. Oh and I LOVE broccoli cheese soup! MMM one of my faves. I am so jealous!

Jocelyn October 5, 2009 at 8:44 pm

oh my goodness Nicci..that is HORRIBLE.. Well I hope both are ok but honestly that Lady needs to be put in a cell for a night.

On that note..I also have a cold :( boo hoo hoo..I am sooo stuffed up and have been gargling salt water all of yesterday and today to ease my sore throat :(
hope u feel better soon and that the tea works!

Shannon, Tropical Eats October 5, 2009 at 8:29 pm

That is awful!!! I can’t believe she hit someone on a bike :( Hopefully she had her helmet on :( Over the summer I was driving through the Target parking lot and a girl slammed into me from the side out of the blue! She was cutting through the parking lot, didn’t see me coming down the aisle way, and plowed into me. :( Now I’m even more cautious of driving. That is the cutest mug ever btw! Have a great day tomorrow <3

Allie (Live Laugh Eat) October 5, 2009 at 8:10 pm

That scares the bajeebers outta me!! I was driving (at a normal pace) one day and this guy came out of NO WHERE on this bike…it scared me half to death. Since then I’ve been checking for bikers like they’re wild animals or something. I hope the lady on her bike is okay!!! Love the mug. Broc and cheese soup at Panera is amazing. I used to get it in the bread bowl ALL THE TIME in high school.

Sarah October 5, 2009 at 7:57 pm

I swear by emergen-c! My fav by itself is the lemon/lime…but the strawberry is awesome blended into smoothies!

That’s sad about the old lady :(

Nicci October 5, 2009 at 8:37 pm

I love my emergen-c too. I’ll have to try it in a smoothie tomorrow morning! Great idea Sarah.
