Sweet and Perfect Hump Day Lunch

by Nicci on 04/07/2010

My co-worker, Carlos, and I decided to eat lunch at Sweet Basil for lunch.  This restaurant never disappoints.

We started off with an appetizer

spring rolls PLEASE!!

Followed by soup consisting of  mushrooms and chicken in a savory sauce…silly me forgot the name of it too.

I went with the Sweet & Sour Chicken and brown rice.  One of my favorite dishes that they offer. I try new dishes, but I always return to this dish.

Every bite was delicious.

I left with a ”food baby” in my stomach. I believe it was due to all the extra chicken they had in the soup today.

~Tonight Chris and I are going to the Rangers game with friends. I’m excited for Baseball Season and our friend Amy is making Lentil Veggie burgers…can’t wait to eat those.  I think that’s better than eating $1 hot dogs :)

Who else loves baseball; whats your favorite team?

Lunch looks like a great success and I hope you enjoyed the game. :D

I love watching baseball! I really enjoy the atmosphere and have been to countless Phillies games. To me it doesn’t really matter the team though. I just go for the experience!

Just found your blog and I’m REALLY loving it!

Oh, I love that they serve brown rice. What is the deal with white rice? It’s fluffy stuff that tastes like nothing.

Gotta love a restaurant that you can always rely on!!! My hubby and I love going to watch baseball. We just watch our minor league team though. The Arkansas Travs.

haha, food baby. Good one.

Now that I have a real baby baby in my stomach there is much less room for food babies. Which I suppose is a good thing.

This is a sign that I must get thai food ASAP. I have seriously been inundated with thai food everything, and it’s making me crave it so badly. Looks like a great meal!

I don’t even have a favorite team. I can’t even fake being a baseball fan. =)

That food of yours is making me hungry!

Nice you got to go out for lunch during work! I love Thai.

I used to go to the Knicks games all the time and I’ll represent and say they’re still my favorite, but… they’re really terrible right now.

Have fun at the Ranger game…Keith and I occasionally go to the Round Rock Express games (although that is the farm team to the Astros).

I think that is tom yum soup. Yum is right! Tom kha is the thai hot and sour soup, and tom yum is basically the same thing but with extra coconut milk :D I went to cooking school in Thailand. Funnest thing ever. I am now full of random facts, too!

That S&S looks good! Love the triangle of brown rice – nom nom. I’m not a baseball fan. :( If I go it’s for the Braves though (due to geography). :)
