Tasteful Tuesdays

by Nicci on 09/08/2009

Keep pushing on…

I’m going to be repeating this a lot in the upcoming months, especially pertaining to work.  People are having babies in my office and this non pregnant girl will be taking over someone elses position for 8 weeks.

Being the ”SWEET” Admin. Assistant that I am, I’ll be doing Intake at our office.  That means entering and filing applications for our program and answering calls from crazy people. Plus doing my own work and reports.

Yoga will be an every morning thing(haven’t picked a new pose for the week yet), so I’ll be changing my exercise schedule around shortly. Yoga is my #2 go to for Stress, #1 would be praying and doing my devotions…slacking in that area. :(

This Morning I ate some cold oats that was prepared over the weekend.  Nifty old Oikos bowl came in handy for storing it on the way to work.

Desperate need for fruits…but it was great & there was banana mixed in it.

All week I kept thinking about the yummy kashi granola bar, in my drawer, at the office.

I definitely enjoyed eating it as a  snack w/ yogurt before lunch.

Look at all those chips!!

Dark Mocha Almond goodness

Lunch: green beans, chicken, potato wedges with coworkers

I’ll admit I was feeling the laziness and broke out the instant rice

Whole grain in 90 seconds baby! Thank you Uncle Ben :)

The roasted carrots paired nicely with my rice.

Side of BBQ chicken (courtesy of my Mother) made a  quick and delicious meal.

Torn between Big Brother & Melrose Place right now.

What upcoming shows are you looking forward to watching?

Good Night!

I’m really looking forward to a new show coming on soon in the UK called Flash Forward. I don’t know if it’s been on in the US, but it looks great.

I live on instant oats, literally. That mocha bar looked pretty good as well. Might have to pick some up.

Oooh, my goodness. The carrots, chicken & brown rice look delectable! But sorry Nicci, I’m also that one in the office that keeps having babies and leaving my work to others for 8 weeks. My bad.

Sadly, wayyy too much TV…Grey’s, Desperate, Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother, 24 (have to wait until January :( ). Looking forward to Glee, Cougars, Eastwick, Melrose Place and Vampire Diaries. Thankfully, I have DVR!

Sorry to hear about your work situation. Yoga will definitely help with stress. I am a type A personality and yoga is the only thing that can help me.

Yum, that kashi bar looks good!

The carrots look yummy!

Don’t worry about slacking in the praying/devotions department. Just try to find a few minutes a day and you will feel much better!

Awesome job reusing the Oikos container. I used to keep all kinds of containers around, but I got rid of a lot of things when we moved. The instant brown rice is a great choice when short on time or just not in the mood. Sometimes the healthy things can take way too long and we just need a few short cuts.

Your blog redesign is sooo cute! When did you do it and how did I miss it?

I watch The Office and I’m really looking forward to the official start of Glee. I love comedies.

Nicci September 8, 2009 at 10:34 pm

Thanks Kaytee, I just did it today. You’ve haven’t missed much. Oh, i want to watch Glee also, looking forward to setting it on my dvr!!

Allie (Live Laugh Eat) September 8, 2009 at 8:23 pm

I was SO CLOSE to putting my oats in a recycled Oikos container today to eat in class but I wimped out and used a to-go thermos.

Nicci September 8, 2009 at 10:36 pm

Allie, I got some crazy looks when ppl saw my container cause its big! I told them ”it’s my oats” that confused them more. I’m known for eating weird food. lol
